And here's another one

Unicorn Magic

Darkness rising

A clock chimed somewhere in the distance. A pencil scuttled across a paper leaving a silvery gray substance in it's wake. long black hair that shimmered when the light hit it cascaded down a pail freckled face. A candle flickered keeping away the darkness and shadows. crimson drapes framed a large full length window that looked out on a stormy night. As aquamarine eyes that Held a strange tragic dark past were wiped to clear them of the so far unshed tears the wind rattled the glass panes and the lightening crackled lighting up the sky.
A low purring noise made the girl look up from her writing. A smoky gray cat moved slowly towards it's owner who lifted the feline onto her plaid skirted lap. The cat's viridian eyes roved over the letter that was sitting on the table.

Dear Surreal,
I regret to inform you that your father, Jason Meyuki is dead. He died during a space training mission. We at NASA Need you to come to claim the body.

Deepest regrets,
Myo Lang
Head of Mission Space

Surreal sighed and folded up the letter she was working on to her younger sister Navia and put it in a draw to send off with the morning mail pick up. Surreal and Navia were born a year apart, Surreal being twenty two and the younger just turned twenty one. Sure it would be easier to just send an e-mail but she wanted to prolong the telling of their father's death to her younger sister because the two of them had always shared a special bond together. Surreal stood up and walked over to her bedroom. She took a silk night dress out of her closet and placed it on the full sized bed. She stepped out of her skirt and slipped off her shirt. She tossed the clothes into the laundry basket and put on the night dress. She pulled back the covers and curled up and fell asleep.
Surreal awoke to the sun streaming right into her eyes. She pulled the black fur pillow over her head and rolled over and tried to get back to sleep. Five minutes later the phone next to her bed rang. Surreal grumbled and snatched the phone off of the cradle.
"Hello," she said tossing off her covers.
"Surreal! It's me, I'm decided to come for a visit for a few days," said Navia's voice.
Surreal sighed and figured that she should tell her sister now to make things easier on both of them.
"Listen Navia, I need to tell you something. You might want to sit down," she heard her sister take a seat on her couch, "I received a letter from NASA concerning dad. I'm sorry Navia, he's dead."
Surreal heard sobbing on the other end and she let her own tears fall.
"OK Navia, you can come over. We'll get threw this, I promise you that,"
Surreal heard the click of the phone hanging up and she sighed and buried her face in her pillow and just let the tears fall. She finally stood up and wiped her hair out of her face and grabbed her keys after getting dressed. She walked down her hallway, leading from her bedroom, passing her kitchen, her living room and her computer room. The interior of the house was a deep blue and cream with rich plush carpet. Surreal knew now that she was alone. All she had was her sister. Their mother had died a few years before and the two got her house and her money.
She stepped out into the bright morning air, "Great, the sky just has to mock me. This is just great," She had a little one story house along with a basement and garage. Her car was a shiny black and she also had a new Harley motorcycle. She grabbed her helmet and jacket off of the rack and mounted up. She needed to get her mind off things and she needed to go grocery shopping for herself and her sister. She put the key in the ignition and felt the bike come to life beneath her. She coasted down her driveway and turned onto the busy main street. The shiny black chrome glittered, looking like it had silvery white tears sliding over it's slick body.

A man lifted up his trench coat from the bed and tossed it over his shoulders and smirked. He ran his fingers through his slicked back dirty blond hair. "Jason Meyuki is dead! Now nothing is stopping me from seizing his money and his two little girls," he chuckled. In his opinion Jason was a fool. Thinking that there were other planets out there with all of the creatures of our dreams and nightmares. His daughters were very pretty and he wanted them as his own. They were adults but if given the right amount of tender loving care they could be controlled. He snapped his silver studded cufflinks on and walked across the apartment and headed out his door. He pressed the down button for the elevator and watched the doors open. He stepped in and the steel doors shut, unaware of the plans it's occupant was devising.
Myo Lang sat behind his desk reading the report his investigative team had written him concerning the death of Jason Meyuki. It had at first been labeled as an accident but reading more carefully it appeared that he was murdered. Jason was in the gravity simulator with his friend Ryu Naloky and when Ryu had exited the pod, he was very distort, claiming that Jason was dead. He had told officials that he had fallen and hit his head on the wall which fractured his skull but evidence showed that he was pushed. Ryu now was no where to be seen and Jason's daughters were scheduled to come pick him up early next week. Myo sighed and stood up to go make his tenth cup of coffee.

At the weathered time of a ~*Thunderous MidNight*~
such sadness to be borne

Wondering perhaps if this is the Beginning to a story,
hope you'll continue on for interest you've stirred.

Good job
